“Accept what life offers you, and try to drink from your every cup. All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle.”
-Paulo Coelho, Brida
Drinking wine is similar to life. You get different tastes from different types of wine. Just like in life, you get different lessons from different experiences. So, what is this drink existing for so many generations already?
Experts say there a lot of benefits from drinking wine; wine helps reduce the risk of cancer and heart diseases. It also helps prolong life and control weight. However, drinking too much is not good; moderation is the key. A glass or two is enough for a day to enjoy the benefits of wine.
Since wine has promising benefits, it is interesting to know its variety. Thank you Marks & Spencer for catering your special wines through a Wine Tasting event held at Greenbelt 5 last February 7.
The Wine Tasting event was geared to inform people of the different types of wine. Of course, a wine expert would be best to handle the event. Ms. Chie Gatchalian, a wine and spirit education trust awardee, was the teacher of the night. She discussed the different types of wine. As Ms. Gatchalian said, "shake-sniff-sip" a glass of wine is the best thing to do for better appreciation of a wine's taste. Yeah, that's the way! ;)
Ms. Chie Gatchalian starts the event by welcoming the number of people.
Most of the people who attended the event are bloggers because NuffnangPH has an exclusive invite to bloggers.
Red
wine is offered for easy drinking. Some famous types of red wine are Cabarnet
Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz.
Cabarnet Sauvignon: best paired with steaks
Merlot: good for beginners in wine drinking
Shiraz: a strong one, so better eat something before drinking this
White Wine
White
wine has deep rich flavor. Some famous white wines are Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat (Moscato).
Chardonnay: best paired with seafood
Sauvignon Blanc: best paired with oily foodstuffs like fish & chips
Muscat: a dry type of wine, but has a fruity taste
Rose Wine
Rose
wine is a combination of white and red wine; that’s right, you’ll get the best
of both worlds with this type of wine.
Champagne & Sparkling Wine
Champagne
and sparkling wines are white wines with a sweeter taste.

My favorite drink is Muscat (Moscato). I love it!
Olai is having a taste of a red wine. After few minutes of tasting different types of wine, she turns red. Haha. This is so Olai! She always turns red after having some shots. :D
Cheers! ;)
Definitely,

My favourite red is always Cabernet Sauvignon.
